Tour PB 6, Paris La Défense, France
1,500 m² of wall formwork
from cycle to cycle without crane
Due to the extremely cramped site conditions and the tight time schedule, the construction of the 160 m high office and administration building in the Paris high-rise district of “La Défense”, made the maximum demands on the formwork and safety techniques, as well as the logistics.
The elliptical core, with twelve crosswalls and ten intermediate walls, was divided into four construction sections.
21 inner shafts and ten outer units, with a total of 1,502 m² of formwork area, were to be climbed in sections or together, depending on construction progress.

The PERI solution: Ten ACS-G units, with a maximum length of 11.30 m, were used on the outside. They also had to accommodate changes in the wall thicknesses from 1.20 to 0.60 m and from 1.00 to 0.40 m. Standard system components and adapters easily allowed the formwork to pass over the 200 mm wall projections.
The modular ACS-P system was used for the inner areas. Each of these units climbed with 6 or 8 ACS climbing machines. |
 |
The 1,114 m² of formwork panels consisted of VARIO GT 24 and SRZ system components, generally working with two tie levels for a 3.55 m lift of concrete. |
 |
21 mm Fin-Ply birch plywood was used for the formlining. |
 |
For reasons of confined space in the inner shafts, in the area of the crane and in the stairwell, 389 m² of steel formwork with 4 mm steel plate was used. |

All working levels in all inner shafts, and the outer units, were separately accessible over ladders, independently of each other. It was also possible to cross over from section to section at level 0 and 1 during all phases of the work.,All working levels in all inner shafts, and the outer units, were separately accessible over ladders, independently of each other.
