Animal Overpass, Zehun, Czech Republic

a perfect match of formwork and shoring
The new animal overpass at Zehun, east of Prague, has been designed to ensure the safe passage of wild and domestic animals across the proposed D 11 motorway. The almost 10 m high arch, made of 0.60 m to 1.40 m thick reinforced concrete, has a span of more than 36 m. Due to the tight construction schedule, the arched formwork had to be supported along its entire length of around 75 m. However, PERI was able to supply the required materials within a very short time. Detailed working drawings, as well as fast and simple assembly of the selected PERI systems, brought additional time advantages for the contractors.
With the PERI UP Rosett modular scaffolding system, PERI provided easily assembled and load-bearing falsework. PERI VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork was then positioned above. Element connections were carried out with articulated couplings which, by means of wedges in the rows of longitudinal holes in the steel walers, ensured continuous flush element joints.
The PERI GRV articulated waler system was used in those side areas with tight radii. Lightweight but stable load-bearing MULTIPROP towers and SLS heavy duty spindles ensured a safe transfer of loads to the ground for those places with high load concentrations. In spite of the high loads, only a minimum of deformation took place.
