With the almost 100 m high Hilton Plaza, the Polish capital can add yet another impressive hotel complex to its ever-growing list of new developments. The building has 28 floors containing 330 rooms, conference facilities and a shopping centre.

For construction of the structurally braced reinforced concrete core as well as internal and external walls, the variable VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork mounted on KGF 240 climbing scaffold was used. In the outer areas, however, the climbing formwork does not only serve to erect the walls. For construction of the slabs, it is used simultaneously as a reliable protection wall during forming and concreting work as well as having a stop end function for the slab edges. In this way, even on very high structures, work can be carried out safely and very productively. Site crews are protected against falling and the weather, and objects are prevented from falling to the ground. With the crane, the complete climbing unit is lifted to the next section.

During the climbing process, the system is also safely connected to the building by means of climbing rails and shoes.

To ensure maximum building progress, assembly of the facade elements was carried out at the same time as the structural work which meant up to 47 facade scaffolding levels were required. For a facade area of over 30,000 m², the universal PERI UP Rosett 70 modular scaffolding along with the PERI UP T 70 frame scaffold with "guardrail in advance" was used. The scaffold was positioned on climbing brackets via head spindles for those places without suitable erection areas. As a result, type-tested PERI KG 180 brackets including finishing platforms were securely anchored to the building at standard spacings of three metres.
