Safe construction in 4-day cycles

The 158 m high building provides around 1,000 m² of living space on each of the 45 floors. The carefully matched PERI formwork solution ensured that only 4 days were needed for the construction of a complete floor. In order to carry out shuttering work not only quickly but also reliably and as far as possible without crane support, the ACS and RCS self-climbing systems were combined.

For forming the reinforced concrete walls of the building core, VARIO wall formwork elements in connection with the ACS G (G = gallows) self-climbing variant was used. By means of the gallows, both formwork sides - including the working platforms - were connected to a climbing unit. This allowed the use of a construction method with which walls and slabs could be concreted in one pour. In order to be able to keep up with the fast building progress, the construction crew used the SKYDECK panel slab formwork. Through the systematic assembly sequence and the use of lightweight aluminum panels, the storey floors could also be formed quickly and, to a large extent, crane-independently.

For enclosing the uppermost three floors under construction in each case, the PERI safety concept included the RCS climbing protection panel. As a fall prevention measure at the edge of building, this increased safety levels for site personnel and the screening of the working areas led to accelerated construction progress. Likewise, the use of RCS self-climbing devices meant that the rail-guided moving procedure could be carried out without requiring a crane and with a minimum of effort.

    Project Superintendent

"The ACS and RCS are both very useful tools. The RCS Protective system makes our carpenters and workers feel extremely safe on the job. Even employees who are otherwise afraid of heights, feel safe because they are contained within RCS P system. Due to this fact, they have no concept of height which increases productivity."
