Bioethanol Production Plant AEP 2008, Norrköping, Sweden
Versatile system solutions and comprehensive construction site support
In Sweden, the world´s most energy effi- cient production plant for bioethanol started operations. After an extensive expansion programme, 500,000 litres of bioethanol is produced on a daily basis from grain, an important step in becoming fossil fuel independent. A nearby biomass power station supplies the required energy. For this purpose, nine steel silos for ethanol storage store are supported on reinforced concrete constructions which accommodate the loads and technical equipment. In order to ensure their accurate construction and the realization of additional buildings, PERI engineers were already involved in the planning phase. With a formwork solution matched to conform to all requirements, the construction progress could be positively influenced. As a result, up to 1,000 m³ of concrete could be processed every week and efficiently formed.
The extremely versatile TRIO panel formwork could be used for forming the foundations, rectangular columns and straight walls. At the same time, the PERI foundation tie clamp facilitated the anchoring of the foundation formwork with a minimum of effort and releasing before striking took place. The nine reinforced concrete rings with 20 m diameters were formed and concreted with PERI RUNDFLEX in two cycles respectively. For the in-situ construction of the 50 cm thick tank slab, MULTIFLEX girder slab formwork was used supported by MULTIPROP aluminum slab props.

“The PERI support goes far beyond what is normally expected - it is only a phone call away. This is extremely important for us so that we are able to keep on schedule The systems used are simple to operate and provide great detailed solutions such as the TRIO foundation tie clamp for foundations.”
