General informations

Formlining plywood is subject to the swelling and shrinkage exhibited by wood as a natural material as its moisture content varies with climatic conditions.

Before use, the sheets must be acclimatized to the ambient conditions in order to prevent them warping or swelling unevenly, particularly at the edges. Under extreme conditions, we recommend measures such as spraying with water (eg with sprinkler) until certain moisture content reached, or storing in the shade prior to use.

Information about the appearance and flatness of the concrete must be understood as only a guide, as these characteristics are subject to the capacities of the formwork systems, the swelling and shrinkage values of the materials and the properties of the particular types of wood and sheets.

Storage:
When storing the units on site, attention should be given to the units being uniformly well protected or equally exposed to the weather. It is only possible to obtain a relatively equal result if the plywood of each unit has acclimatized relatively equally.

Release agents:
Only formlining which has been well looked after can ensure a uniform good quality concreting finish. Therefore, PERI recommends using PERI Clean and PERI Bio Clean as release agents. The plywood sheets are thus optimally prepared for their next use. If other release agents are used, the user must check whether the required results can actually be achieved.

More information on PERI release agents can be found in the “Accessories” section.

Edge treatment / Edge sealing:
As soon as plywood is cut, attention should be given to the cut edges being immediately sealed again.
